My grandma’s house (Italy) was used as a Nazi base during WWII. In 1943 the Germans walked everyone up a hill and mined the whole village, except my grandma’s house. After the Nazis left, the Canadians arrived and took base in my grandmas house too. The village was rebuilt later on.
