The Deep Biosphere is the underground zone where life exists. It extends below the surface at least 3.1 mi below land and 6.5 mi below the sea surface. Mostly bacteria and archae (one celled organisms), their carbon weight is estimated to be 17-25 BILLION tons or 245-385 times all people combined.
